On June 13, the groundbreaking ceremony of ZF’s new energy auto parts project was held in Shenyang. The project plans to produce and sell products such as three-in-one assemblies for the electric drive axles of new energy vehicles, which have internationally leading technology and meet future development trends. The project marks another key step in ZF Group’s electrification transformation.
The new plant is located in Hunnan District, covering an area of 125 mu, with 900 employees planned to be recruited. The main product is a three-in-one assembly for new energy vehicle electric drive axles, and the first supporting project of the plant is expected to be put into operation in March 2025. This is the third electric drive plant to be opened by ZF in China since 2021. The start-up of this project expands ZF’s customer base in the electric drive sector as well as ZF’s electric drive production capacity. The electrification of powertrains is one of ZF’s core technology pillars, enabling it to provide fully localised electric drive system solutions for OEMs. To date, the ZF Electric Drives business unit has a worldwide order book of more than 30 billion euros and designs and manufactures electric drive systems and components for major brands in the passenger car and commercial vehicle segments.
